The iGo Helps Us All Go

The world has always been a complex place to navigate, that’s certainly nothing new. With the rise of the internet (similar to Icarus or a phoenix, but without any negative connotations like failure or death!), in recent years we’ve had some serious improvements in our ability to find out way, even when we’re in unfamiliar surroundings. Personally, I’ve found myself looking around like a tourist with an over-sized camera while moving in cities I’ve lived in for years! Thanks to igo primo navigation I’ve been substantially more hopeful for the future. If you’re not familiar with the term GPS (Global Positioning System) by now, then don’t worry, I won’t insult your lack of tech savvy prowess, but I will encourage you with some light-hearted humor that you should snap your fingers and tell yourself to get with the program!

Just a cursory glance at this intimidating picture of the GPS mapping of most of Western Europe’s streets can be a little discouraging for any globetrotter. I try to find the silver lining and think about how far we’ve come as a global culture, but I can’t help but think about how far away my own tourist fantasies seem without the proper tools! © Eric Fischer.

I’ve taken a look at some of the coolest features of that “iGo Primo Navigation” system which I mentioned previously and I have to say, it’s got some of the coolest features in a GPS… Probably the most attractive feature that I’ve found thus far is that there is something called a “tunnel view” where the display actually shows you the inside of a tunnel if you’re travelling through one!

It took me almost a full minute before I realized that this photo is taken inside of a hot air balloon! I literally laughed out loud and thought it was the most ingenious use of a GPS system I could ever think of. Don’t ask me to try and read that thing though, if I’m not on a road in a car, then I’d probably be more lost than a toddler trying to decipher a calculus equation… © William Hook.

Granted, maybe some people aren’t going to be so amazed from an interior tunnel perspective as I am, but for anyone who is used to losing service with their GPS system when travelling in a tunnel, that little feature can feel like such a god-send! Particularly when you’re trying not to miss your exit or hitting a five-way intersection!

Now here is something that most people (including myself) are more familiar with. I wouldn’t say that a GPS having a built in jukebox system is something that would make or break its usefulness or functionality though; most people are perfectly capable of operating a radio or a stereo or any of the mainstream portable music devices. © Alan Bruce.

Web Designing and Internet Technology

With the spread of the internet across the world and the growing population of users on the World Wide Web, web designing has come a long way. Web designing refers to the interface design and graphical desFning involved in a website or a webpage. Internet was first developed by the European nuclear research agency CERN in 1989. The World Wide Web was finally developed between 1991 and 1993 and featured text only pages which could be viewed via a simple browser. HTML, JavaScript and several other languages were later added to the coding to support a more graphical interface.

Today internet remains as one of the most popular means of communication and entertainment and serves a variety of purpose across several industrial sectors. Cyber terrorism refers to the unlawful use of the World Wide Web in order to spread terrorism and chaos. The objectives of terrorism can be many, political or general. Several Hollywood movies have again and again showcase the fact that how internet has exposed us all to a form of terrorism that can affect us inside our very homes. The 2007 Hollywood flick ’Live Free or Die Hard’ starring Bruce Willis showcased a much grave use of internet technology to manipulate critical government protocols and allowed the antagonist to utilize the government’s funds, weaponry and military forces.

The famous terminator movie series deals with the development of superior web technologies that are controlled through a central Artificial Intelligence for use in military. Instead, the machines and the technology created by the humans, turns on them and start a nuclear war on their own accord. Similarly, the Matrix series, starring actor Keanu Reeves, shows how internet technology and coding was used by the machines to imprison humans and generate enough power to keep the machines alive. Internet use while being a boon to the humans has made us severely dependent on this technology. What would you do if your old personal computer in your room were to turn on you?
