Byron John Will, Harpsichord and Clavichord Maker
Established in 1975, I have making historic reproductions of harpsichords and clavichords. The workshop is now located in Portland Oregon,. I have also had a workshop available to me from colleague and virtuoso recorder player Winfried Hackl, in Schwertberg, Austria (near Linz). Instruments are located around the world, privately and in institutions in the US, Europe and Taiwan.

A logo was designed for a classical yet light feel, then incorporated into stationary and envelopes.

Web Site
The first web site was built in 1994 (remember Mosaic?). This is also when I saw the potential for the web, and started incorporating more of my graphic design work to this new medium.
The site incorporates a period feeling, with a new logo and period images on the main page that are used for the navigational sections of the site.
It now has information and photographs of the instruments, as well as a workshop and methods section.
A number of clients have ordered instruments solely on the confidence they found with the presentation of the instruments on the web site, without actually seeing or playing an instrument.
Photography
Instruments were photographed during construction as well as in their completed state. A background template and hand shading was used to give the finished photographs consistency, without the need of a studio shoot.
